Current Concept:

“Having grown up with cartoons, I have always felt drawn to the environments and the constructions of those imaginary characters.  The animation artist delicately alters proportions, physical appearance, and facial expressions to convey personalities and impart character to the cartoons.

Square edges and level surfaces dominate our normal expectations.  My Refined Cartoon Furniture skews this norm with its subtle but clearly evident 5-degree shifts from parallel and perpendicular.

By challenging accepted standards I want to inspire critical-eyed viewers to question my artistic intent and even my craftsmanship as they closely examine my creations.

These unexpected shapes and perspectives impart spirit to my work, its abstraction of 3-dimensional conventions making it stand out from its surroundings.”
