Emerge & See: A Fusion of Live Art & Music

The Crofoot will be rockin’ with more than just bands this Friday as Emerge & See takes over with a mix of individuals showcasing skills from puppetry to graffiti.

“We are striving to encapsulate the national howl of the underdog of society,” says Tarun Gehani, co-founder of Freshtight Designs based out of West Bloomfield. “We represent artists, authors and musicians with a do-it-together attitude, rather than a do-it-yourself. Our goal is to continue to bring awareness to the art and music community.”

Emerge & See will feature talents from Detroit, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Ferndale and Royal Oak, and highlights include live painting, graffiti, a puppet show, bands and DJs from artists and musicians like the Satin Peaches, SikSik Nation, Emily Rose, Jessika Carmichael, Davy Rothbart, Kobie Solomon and Kady Meabrod to name a few. Vendor booths will be set up from 7-11 p.m. on the Crofoot balcony.

“Events such as Emerge & See aren’t focused on making a profit. They’re focused on making. Period,” Gehani says. “Events like these are important because they stay true to the common cause and that is creating something unique. We pool our resources, our connections, our talents and we come out with something spectacular.”

FRIDAY > Emerge & See
Commandeering the Crofoot complex is this debut event, a mini arts-and-music festival with dozens of local artists and artisans presenting edgy work: live graffiti exhibitions, avant-garde photography, funky jewelry.  The hefty lineup of music fits the bills, with performances by top-shelf Detroit acts including the Satin Peaches, Mick Bassett & the Marthas, SikSik Nation, Emily Rose, Jessika Carmichael, Justin Bennett and Justin Torok.  If Arts, Beats & Eats was too tame for your tastes, this could be your answer.
